Theme The theme of this year's Local Food Summit is Food Love. With this theme as our guide, the summit seeks to ask: What do we love about our food system? What would it take to build a food system we love? How can we inspire others to share the love and get involved?

Keynote & Morning sessions The keynote will be Judy Wicks, founder of White Dog Cafe in Philadelphia, who is an entrepreneur, author, speaker and mentor working to build a more compassionate, environmentally sustainable, and locally-based economy. We will be highlighting "Local Food Victories" of the past year and actively strategizing how to engage a broader community to strive for future local food victories. We will also be featuring a food lover story slam, hosted by local poet, musician and activist William Copeland.

Great local food throughout the day Members of our team are working with chefs and staff at the University of Michigan and with generous donors to provide delicious local food throughout the day. If you would like to donate local food for the event please contact us ASAP. As the menu is finalized it will be posted online.

Afternoon Sessions will provide opportunities for learning, networking, listening, discussing, and inspiring, as well as chances for participants to connect with food work already happening locally, or gain support for new ideas and projects. New this year, youth activities - see schedule for details!

Scholarships We are again offering financial need-based scholarship applications for anyone who would like to attend but needs assistance. See the scholarship registration form for more information. We are also offering the possibility of sponsorship of these scholarships (see below).

Sponsorships There are opportunities to be involved as a sponsor of the summit. Benefits include complimentary registration(s), program listing, and tabling space (as space allows), etc. Please visit the sponsorship page for details.

Community Posting Space There will be ample space for local businesses and organizations to post flyers, business cards, and other information in the Michigan League.

We're looking forward to seeing you on February 15 at the 7th Annual Local Food Summit!
